They are a major contributor to obesity and illness around the world."
-My paraphrase: Processed foods are the reason why people these days are getting sick and acquiring diseases or illnesses or gaining weight.
-Ideas: Processed foods could be the reasons for problems in our world

Note Card two:
-Quote: "Every time a population adopts a Western diet high in processed foods, they get sick.
It happens within a few years. Their genes don't change, their food does."
-My paraphrase: When someone starts eating processed foods that their bodies haven't had before, their bodies react because it's different so they get sick because their bodies don't know how to deal with the new food.
-Ideas: Maybe it really is the food we're eating that is making us sick, were not changing, but the food is.

Note Card three:
-Quote: "Food manufacturers spend massive amounts of resources on making their foods as "rewarding" as possible to the brain, which leads to over consumption."
-My paraphrase: The foods that factories are making taste very good which is why people are over eating and gaining weight. The foods manufacturers make are addictive which is why people can't stop eating them.
-Ideas: Manufactures are the ones making people gain weight because they are making unhealthy addictive foods.

(HFCS)
-Ideas: Sugar and HFCS are not very healthy substances and could be one of the main reasons that these foods are harming the body.

Note Card Two:
-Quote: "Processed foods tend to have long ingredients lists and very few of the items listed are recognizable as food. These mystery ingredients include colors, flavorings, preservatives, and materials to enhance the texture of the food."
-My paraphrase: Food companies put long ingredient labels on there packages but most of those ingredients aren't qualified as real foods.
-Ideas: Hopefully people will realize that what their eating isn't technically food and think just because the label is long that it is meaningful. Quality over quantity.
Also is people start realizing what the labels actually say, that company could start to lose money.

These carcinogens also cause rapid aging, kidney failure, and weak bones."
-My paraphrase: The foods that we are eating that are processes are actually really harming our bodies. The companies creating the foods are making them taste very good however, what makes them taste good is harming us.
-Ideas: Why would companies make foods that are so bad for us? Yes, they may taste good but, they are really bad for us.

Note Card two:
-Quote: "The foundation of most processed foods in grocery stores today spring from laboratories, not nature. Genetically-modified organisms (GMOs), which have been linked to infertility, organ damage, and cancer. Excessive amounts of these foods entail weight gain, pollutes your blood stream, and can permanently effect the composition and function of your intestines."
-My paraphrase: processed foods are full of Genetically-modified organisms. these GMOs are very very bad for us.
-Ideas: Why put GMOs in foods if they are hurting our bodies?

Note Card three:
-Quote: "In order to grow the GMOs used in processed foods, conventional farmers apply Roundup (glyphosate) along with other pesticides and herbicides, which end up in the crop. Some breakfast cereals out there contain up to 70 different types of pesticides, fumigation chemicals, and other residues."
-My paraphrase: Pesticides are in processed foods because processed foods contain GMOs and GMOs contain pesticides.
-Ideas: again, why put GMOs in food, its very bad for you.

It's blamed for our nation's obesity epidemic, high blood pressure and the rise of Type 2 diabetes."
-My paraphrase: Processed foods are the leading cause in our nations obesity epidemic, high blood pressure and the increase in Type 2 diabetes.
-Ideas: If any of these issues continue to grow then people will be more careful and aware of what they eat.

Note Card Three:
-Quote: "Processed foods are major contributors of sodium in our diets, because salt is commonly added to preserve foods and extend shelf life,"
-My paraphrase: Companies are adding more sugar to their products so it stays in better condition while on the shelf of a store.
-Ideas: Why wouldn't companies have more confidence in their product that it will sell quicker. If you need to add that much salt than the food probably isn't that good anyways.
