One challenge the two American men faced was when they tried to enter Afghanistan. They had to have visas going into every city. They also need a visa to cross the bridge that would get them into the other cities but they works wouldn't let them cross. They had to wait a few week before they could cross they bridge.

Another challenge was when they traveled through Walkhan Corridor they went 12 days without shelter. The American men said "No matter how many blankets they had you were still cold." The only way they knew they were on the right path was when they saw road markers that were signals of where they were going and how long along they were. Those road markers were the same road markers that Marco Polo described in his book.

Another challenge was when they went into the Taklimakan Desert. They didn't have shelter and they traveled by mule and horse. This desert is known when you go in, no one comes out. This did frighten the American men but they knew they had to do it because Marco Polo did it.

One similarity between the two American men and Marco Polo was when they traveled by boat in Israel inside of car to make it like the 20th century. One difference is when the men got there they stop and collect holy water with the city and got candles with there churches. Marco Polo would have continued his journey so he could write his book.

One similarity the culture in the country was the same. They had farms the people in the city would help and be there.
One difference was the two American men stayed longer in places meeting people, trying to get in newspapers, and doing new things. Marco Polo just went to other countries didn't stop much. Marco Polo was trying to find new things and then keep traveling.

One similarity is Marco Polo and the two American men traveled through the most dangerous part of Iran. They took people with one another to keep each other safe. One difference is that they had to have visa's everywhere they went. After 6 weeks said there visa were declined. Marco Polo just went into the country without a visa. Another difference is the two Americans traveled by train for 2 weeks when Marco Polo traveled by animal or foot.

One similarity is they use Marco Polo same traveling style to keep them safe which was they could get horses whenever and where ever same with lodging and getting food (they also sent 25 body guards). Another similarity is No paved road, no cars, and no electricity. "Felt like walking into the 13th century." One difference is the two American men had to have Visa going into every city. The cities had to know who they were, how long they were going to be there, and where they were from. When Marco Polo was traveling he didn't have to have visa's.

One similarity between the American men and Marco Polo is The people in the city became friends with the two American men and helped one another out. By doing this they provided shelter and food to them. One difference is Polo described it as amazing but the American men were caught in a fire fight. The men were caught in a cross fire but once the people with the guns figured out that the American men were safe they became friends.

One similarity is Marco Polo said when he first went to the city of Zhangye it was full of trade and when the American men went they said it was full of trade. One difference is the American men had real food, stay in a hotel with beds, and a real shower. When Marco Polo would've stayed in a hotel if there was one but it wouldn't have any of these necessities.

If I could travel to any one of the places that Marco Polo and the two American men have been to is Turkey because of the people and the culture. In the videos they make is sound frustrating because of the visa situation but to travel and tour I believe that it would be fun and a great new experience for me.
