There were many different races of Jews in the Ghetto. It was divided on not just if you're jewish but what specific ethnicity you are. Synagogues were hard to find and in poor condition due to the lack of aid to keep it maintained. Also, some copies of the Talmud were found and burned by non jews. Other Venice citizens would go as far as to force Jews to go to church. Below is the German Synagogue.

Day to Day life was hard for the Jews. Many wanted to get out of their ghetto and usually never got the chance. But if they did, they had to dress differently and appear as a non Jew. Jewish life was also very restricted and people didn't have much to do.

Even though the Jews had a harsh life in the Venice Ghetto, there weren't a lot of other places that they were accepted in. So the people of Venice were nice enough to give them a home and back then they were considered good to the Jews. Many others wouldn't allow Jews in their civilization and would go as far as to hurt them.

Venice had an unspoken rule with the Jews basically telling them what they can and can't do. Jews knew that Venice was superior to them and respected that. They weren't allowed to wear anything fancy and were basically told to stay in their lines.
