(Even though I was born in 2006, my zodiac is a rooster because it was before Chinese new year.) Your Zodiac comes around every 12 years because there are 12 zodiacs, but did you know that your zodiac year in unlucky for you? Supposedly you will offend the golden age god of your zodiac and have bad luck. You must counterbalance this with red clothing (https://www.chinahighlights.com/travelguide/chinese-zodiac/)

2.Chinese New Year: On Chinese new year grown-ups are supposed to give small red envelopes full of money to children. This is supposed to give elders good luck and fortune for the rest of the year. (https://chinesenewyear2018.com/red-pockets/)

3.Dumplings: Dumplings are eaten on the eve of Chinese new year and are filled with lots of doughy fillings. They are said to bring wealth in the next year because they are shaped like the yuanobo (ancient Chinese money). Sometimes people hide good things in the dumplings for good luck (https://www.travelchinaguide.com/essential/holidays/new-year/customs.htm)
