She mostly worked with black & white imagery, usually having people in her images. She doesn't work with crime noir but she uses the effect of light and shadowing to create beautiful noir felt images. I like her style of happier takes on the noir shadowing. Normally in noir, shadows are created to show scary characters or to make a character seem important (Casting a large shadow over those close). The light shines directly over the character and their environment telling the audience without having to explain itself. It is used in the way of Foreshadowing for later events.
