At the end of the day, I want to be remembered as someone who strived to be best version of self on a daily basis and who served and inspired others to do the same. This means not only living and encouraging healthy lifestyles, but taking action to make the world a better place, leading with love and compassion, incorporating random acts of kindness into my daily routines. I believe even if we help or inspire one person, we tip the scales dramatically towards a more loving world. Chances are, that person will soon help others and witnesses will catch light and join in on the acts. Our greatest superpowers are love and kindness and using them to serve others...especially in ways that fuel our passions. Strive to always play on the field where passion and compassion meet. When I hold a camera it stops the ruminating of thoughts in my mind and I see the world with a different perspective, but it also allows me to focus in on what I'm really feeling. I usually allow the viewer to interpret their own meaning, but I wanted to embrace a bit of vulnerability here and share what was in my heart. I think at times I feel trapped, limited, stuck- much like the reflection in the feeder in the picture below. My mind spirals with how much I took for granted and how quickly experiences were gone. As I sit with and honor these feelings, I also realize the tremendous gifts found within these circumstances and that it is only my mind keeping me prisoner. I have space and time for self discovery, for art, to get creative with connecting to others, and I cherish the encounters I have. I am much more present, intentional, and able to dive into really living the lessons I have been teaching all of these years...embracing discomfort, elevating and empowering, the power of self-discipline, one breath/one step at a time, etc. And in sitting with this, I realize in some ways this experience has allowed me more opportunity...that perhaps, I have been gifted with freedom and new levels of potential that will allow me to soar and discover uncharted skies I wouldn't have otherwise discovered. I realize there are no barriers before me or walls holding me in. One of my favorite motivational phrases is this can deflate me or develop me, defeat me or define me.
