It could be due to their race, culture, or actions they have committed in society.

I think it might be about a group of people who are widely hated and are targeted in some way.

I think that online anonymity allows people to speak their opinions without fear of oppression and makes them feel that they have power to provide negative comments toward others. They may feel that there will be no consequences, but there are the same consequences as there is in real life.

People who have made controversial decisions are being targeted by people online, and everyone in the nation in general.

Social media and online platforms had a large role in the episode, with people behind their keyboards fuelling hate towards the people. Their actions influence others to act the same way while believing they are making decisions without consequences. 

3. Describe the "ADIs" (Autonomous Drone Insects) and their purpose in the episode. How are they utilized, and what consequences do they bring? 

ADIs are ‘drone-like’ machines that were originally created to keep the environmental cycle continuing, due to the deterioration of the environment recently. However, they are being utilized to torture and kill people

They need to decide whether to shut down the ADIs, and potentially ruin the ecosystem and the environment, or to continue the use of them, and potentially continue the torturing and killing of hated people. There is also the situation of whether it is worth the effort, and whether the people deserve what is happening to them. People also deserve their privacy, but that is violated with the ADIs always flying around.

The episode explores public shaming and online accountability, with it being the main plot point. People had been using hashtags to hate on others, and that ended up with the others being killed. This means there should also be consequences for the people online, since they caused the killing of the people they hate.

They convey how much society relies on technology, and although it may be convenient, there may be unforeseen consequences. Everybody uses technology but do not think about the ethical implications.

It shows that every action that is done has its consequences, and advancing technologies make that all the more important. There will be positives and negatives of this, such as the bees reviving the environment and ecosystem, but also carried the consequence of murdering people.

The ending demonstrates the extreme consequences of online behaviour, and the risks of technology in society. Over 300,000 people were killed in the episode, which reflects the extent of the consequences that could be seen when the capabilities of technology goes unchecked. It can be learned that we should all be extremely cautious when using technology and must prioritise the potential consequences that could arise as a result of the immense use.

I think Charlie Brooker critiques society’s dependence on technology, and the consequences of online behaviour that people often overlook. It reflects real-world issues with advancing technology, especially AI, being a potential risk for all of society in the future. It also reflects the aspect of cyber-bullying, and that it has the same consequences as bullying in-person, but lots of people disregard that.

It is 2078, and as I look back to my past, my regrets include not being fulfilled by not living my life to the fullest, and not taking advantage of the limited time here on Earth. Instead of focusing on technology and the developments that they provided us in life, I should have spent more time dedicated to the simple and integral aspects of life, such as spending time with family and friends. Those are the extremely important aspects of my life, and without them, life is not worth living, so I wish I put more of my focus towards what truly made me happy. THE ARBORIST - LEON FURZE:

In the Arborist there's a lot of use of imagery throughout the story. It is very descriptive such as when it says "That sun-baked-red-earth, eucalypt smell of the trees", "gunpowder earthiness of the dust" and "His skin is dry, like the coarse, peeling bark of the trees."

The literary devices allow us to picture what is being described in the short story. It allows ourselves to be immersed within the story and understand what is being told. The arborist uses plenty of imagery which makes us able to picture this new planet that the character is living on. We know is it a very isolated, inhospitable environment filled with various trees and the dry red dust that fills the air.
