Started in 2013, but grew suddenly in 2020.

Co-founders are: Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi.

Their goals are to stop discrimination against black people or people of color.

The Black Lives Matter movement started after George Zimmerman shooting the 17 year old, African-American teen, Trayvon Martin in 2012.

This happened in 2012-2013, in Stanford, Florida.

The Black Lives Matter movement was resolved and brought back in 2020 by George Floyd's death.
