Research generally refers to the creative and systematic work undertaken to increase the stock of knowledge including human, cultural and social knowledge and to design new applications of existing knowledge. Scientific research uses concepts and theoretical inspiration from the social sciences to study changes in social development.
2.Basic research is theoretical in nature while applied research is practical in nature. basic research aims at expanding knowledge by creating new theories and modifying existing ones, applied research is focused on providing practical solutions to specific problems by analyzing empirical evidence. Examples of basic research is: An investigation looking at whether stress levels influence how often students engage in academic cheating. Whereas applied Research is the research that is designed to solve specific practical problems or answer certain questions. To add some knowledge to the existing one. To find out the solution for the problem at hand. A few examples of applied research in psychology include: Analyzing what type of prompts will inspire people to volunteer their time to charities. 1.2 Three characteristics of science:
1. Objectivity: Scientific research and discussion must comply with objective reality;
2. Verification: The conclusions of scientific research must be verifiable;
3. Systematic: Scientific research and scientific theories must be systematic and complete.
2.1 Basic research: refers to experimental and theoretical work carried out to obtain basic principles and new knowledge about phenomena and observable facts, which does not aim at any specialized or specific application or use.for example:Improve and develop the national research and experimental base system, and some research bases have reached world-class levels.2 Applied research: refers to creative research conducted to obtain new knowledge, which is primarily directed to a specific practical purpose or goal.

1. Methodology definition is - a body of methods, rules, and postulates employed by a discipline: a particular procedure or set of procedures. Methods generally refer to the means and behaviors adopted to obtain something or achieve a certain purpose. Methods have different interpretations and definitions in philosophy, science and life.
2. Methodology is the overall framework that explains justifies the use of some methods and not others in order to derive theories.
3. I would use questionnaires as it is economical and it is an efficient way of obtaining large amounts of information from a large sample of people. The good thing is that the interviewees can remain anonymous as well. Questionnaires use both open and closed questions to collect data. This is beneficial as it means both quantitative and qualitative data can be obtained.

In 2000, my country's sulfur dioxide emissions were 19.95 million tons, ranking first in the world. According to expert calculations, to meet the environmental capacity requirements of the national weather, sulfur dioxide emissions must be reduced by at least 40% on the existing basis.
And we can Vigorously carry out publicity and education, improve the awareness of rural ecological environmental protection. They differ in that the method is a specific method for collecting data, and the methodology is the theoretical framework that supports the chosen method.

3. It depend on the type of study.Interviewing are more suitable for a deeper research, which can asking targeted questions. But interviewing need time and hard to get a lot of data. Questionnaire more fit on the research which need a tons of data, it easy to execution.

1.Methods are just behavior or tools used to select a research technique. Methodology is analysis of all the methods and procedures of the investigation. Methods are applied during the later stage of the research study. Methodologies are applied during the initial stage of the research process.
2. Methodology can provide guidance for data collection and make the project manageable, smooth and effective.
3.I prefer interviews because of the flexibility, use of a more complex interview outline, access to direct, reliable information and materials, freedom from written language and text, and ease of in-depth investigation.

The research we want to do is searching for the impact of Population Aging on Society
