It came from the perspective of a narrator and went around in the lives of 2 families who both had sons who were clinically diagnosed with autism at a young age.

The point of the documentary was to inspire hope within families who have an autism diagnosis, as it can feel daunting at first. Of course as the documentary addresses that its not a miracle cure or fix, and that it takes a very large amount of extremely hard work. If we can increase awareness of these possible therapies we can greater encourage the help for children with autism diagnosis.

During my research I found that there is indeed dissenting opinions among the scientific psychological community which was an informative thing to stumble upon.

The only time you ever had access to the info was if you were already within the community and so the context of this video was to spread awareness for this issue that was not mainstream.

As nothing in the human brain is completely resolved and answered nor do we know the causes of autism which makes it difficult to claim that there is one simple solution.

During my research I found 2 very important evidence based statistics that support the idea of ABA being effective and the possibility of a call to move in a direction of clinic based therapy for ABA

The documentary does a good job not asserting anything as fact, however actively encourages and sheds ABA therapy in a positive light.

My research delved into the effectiveness of the quality of therapy given due to a spike of ABA therapy over the course of the past few years and was extremely data driven and in fact indicated that the quality has not fallen down.

There may be some implicit bias because I work in this field which makes watching the documentary even more informative for someone like me. The narrator and camera go throughout the film interviewing and informing the audience about the families and their journeys with their children with autism.

The film uses 3 of the 4 of the basic shots, there are close ups when its showing the behavioral therapist working with Jake, a medium shot at Jakes birthday as well as a full shot. While the documentary never has an oblique angle it certainly has a straight on angle during the majority of the film and a high angle when zoomed out looking down on them conducting therapy. The documentary was filmed in 2009 and it shows.

The research indicated that documentaries do indeed have the power to change the outcome and perspectives of people and there were several evidence based claims about movies with data behind them and how they influenced the structures of people and their perspectives.

It is important to ask how much that this changes our ability to discern the truth. Something to consider is that there are biases in everything and maybe in instances like this it it important to evaluate how the author presents the perspective. With that being said I think that the documentary and the points that it makes are extremely important and beneficial for people in society who are diagnosed with autism. It helps supports families and those children's and allows them to participate in society. The film mentions that it is not a miracle cure, and this is true.
