We live in a society that systematically excludes people of color from opportunities of health, safety, and security. I am a teacher because I believe we have a right to those things.

Schools for underprivileged are like a band-aid for social injustice. 30 million kids need food from schools to live. We have to ask ourselves, why don't 30 million families have food!? How can we solve this problem?

In Education we need to stop solving problems by asking ourselves, what is the minimum we can do to just get people quiet and move on?

If we had, and we did have, massive gaps in terms of access to opportunities and ultimately then student achievement in our education system, they just got a whole lot worse under the conditions of COVID-19.

In the suburbs they're doing these sort of "Corona Pods" now where they're hiring individual teachers for groups of kids who aren't getting what they need in school and they're taking care of themselves. If you're living in a much more disadvantaged circumstance, you simply don't have the resources to do that.

We have a one-size-fits-all system and we've got to shift to a system that's going to meet kids where they are and give them what they need.

What will my kids do when they get sick and miss many days of school? Will they be held back? Will they have to attend summer school? How will they be able to afford the doctor's bill? We don't have these answers. It is like all of these little things add up that make us no longer helpful to them.

We know that students don't learn as well when they're under stress and this is a stressful time, there's all kinds of economic stressors and then you know, worrying about health.

Then you think about who the pandemic has disproportionately hit and it's disproportionately hit black and brown communities and low-income communities, so then we think about, okay, which children are facing the most stress and what is that going to mean for their learning.

I agree with most of the teachers' opinions because they all have to do with social injustices, poverty, lack of government help and due to COVID-19 children live with more anxiety.

I agree with everyone because everyone has a good opinion and the most students when the have stress it is difficult for them to learn because at that moment they only think about the problem they have and how to solve it and is also true that worries can harm our health.

I agree with teacher Ashley because she says what her children will do if they get COVID, they will miss many days of school and have to go to summer school and they are not ready to pay those bills.
