After King John was demanded to come back to Portugal, he promised that he would stay true to the new established constitution. With leaving, he left his son Pedro behind back in Brazil to rule, but the Cortes also reduced his role. So they broke up Brazil because they could only trade with Portugal.

After Aviles sent an ultimatum to Pedro telling him to leave, when he didn't he came back. However, this time the civilians sent Aviles back to Portugal.

Pedro II led Brazil through three main conflicts; the Platine War, the Uruguayan War, and the Paraguayan War. He managed to bring peace and stability to the country. However despite his pros, he had no intention to see the monarchy after him survive. He didn't consider female ruling acceptable. With no viable heir the Empire so no reason to keep the monarchy around so on November 15, 1889 he was over thrown.

As Napoleon was on a retreat Germans, particularly students began to volunteer to fight for the Prussians against France. A German confederation eventually formed, but it was ineffective at stopping the violence. Gradually overtime the calls for unity and liberal reforms grew louder. It caused a revolution in 1848, but it didn't work out because no one could agree on what they wanted. Finally in 1871 France declared war against the German states, and Germany won.
