My current role is as a Community School Coordinator in a school where we are in the first year of implementing this model, so this review would be incredibly relevant to my work and beneficial to our grant writing for this cycle. I imagine that the review may include looking into the potential reduction in chronic absenteeism, increasing student and family engagement, and the impact on health and academic outcomes as well as the challenges associated with coordinating wraparound services for students and families.

So far I have tried a few search terms: elementary math, math acceleration,  math differentiation, tracking.  I mostly have put primary research as a search term as well, assuming that different methods may show up.  I'm not sure! 

I have only found a couple of things I think I can use, but I am looking forward to checking out the more recent links Kevin posted for finding primary sources. Tests are an "easy "assessment tool for instructors.  Just speaking from my own experience, I am a "good" test taker, I don't need to understand the material to score high on a test. I would like to explore ways to engage the learner with experiences to allow the meaning of the lesson be concrete knowledge. Is this possible in all classes or is it too challenging to incorporate in undergraduate studies?

In particular, I would like to focus on integrating a canine training program into therapy. There are studies providing support that training dogs can lead to psychological and behavioral benefits for the trainers in PTSD, at risk youth, and inmate populations. There is also documentation on incorporating dogs into the talk therapy session. I hope to find studies in which a CBT/other talk based therapy is included with the added intervention of canine training.

This question was brought up recently by colleagues while I myself was implementing an intensive toilet-training plan with a student. Search terms I have been using include: intensive toilet training, effective(ness), parents, opinion, day-program, ASD/ Autism. 

Thus far I have been utilizing the USM online database but I have been having some trouble finding qualitative research articles on the subject. Quantitative studies are covering the effectiveness of the program but I hope to find qualitative studies which will illuminate parents experiences, shining light on the ethicality.

Ever since I taught in the hybrid model last year, I've been curious to learn more about how it affects students. 

I had countless students struggle last year to maintain a healthy sleep schedule. Many would openly tell me they would sleep until noon on their remote days and then not go to sleep until past midnight the night before they were in person again.

Some phrases I've tried Googling so far are "Effects of sleep on learning", "How much sleep do students need" and "Impact of sleep on student learning" and they've all yielded multiple results from reputable sources or journals, so I think it's viable.

My next step would be to narrow my search terms for age (I would prefer to find research linked to middle school). I'd like to put emphasis on the effects on sex ed as well: the outcomes of both comprehensive and accurate sex ed versus the outcomes of strict or "abstinence only" sex ed. How does comprehensive sex ed impact students' futures? How does abstinence-only sex ed impact students' futures? What kind of sex ed is best for the health and wellbeing of adolescents? Should sex ed courses teach students about gender and sexuality, or stick to sexual health? I am very interested in the huge impact on adolescent sexual and mental health that sex ed has, as well as its very drastic differences even within our own country.

There are tons of search terms I could play around with, but I will definitely use sexual education, sex* ed*, comprehensive sex* ed*, abstinence sex* ed*, sexual health, teen pregnancy, adolescent sexual health, and adolescent reproductive health.

To conduct my research, I will use USM Libraries' Academic OneSearch, URSUS search (to look for books on my topic, potentially), and journals under the Social Sciences tab in the Journals & eBooks section on the library homepage. I may also elicit the help of Tim and some of the other librarians if I get lost or stuck.

But now I will focus on how even a small amount of physical activity can positively impact learning.  So, it becomes inclusive not just for athletic people but also for people with a sedentary job or adults who pursue lifelong learning.

The backstory of this is that I have a short attention span and after some research so do all adults at only 8 seconds! So, I started moving while studying or working and I feel like not only is my attention span longer but my ability to learn is stronger. My other thought is to pursue something along the lines of how Fraternities/ sororities impact student's academia or campus culture. 

My interest in these topics is because I worked two jobs while pursuing my undergraduate degree and now work full-time while doing my masters and personally want to see if my academics would have been different if I didn't work at least during my undergrad. 

Secondly, I think there is a stigma when it comes to frat/ and sororities (the same stigma that is associated with being an athlete) that I have always been intrigued in, especially coming from a college that Greek life was not a large portion.
