The cars were filled up to one hundred prisoners per car while being transported from camp to camp.

In the fourth article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the text states that, “No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.” However, even with this specific article stating that under no exceptions is any form of slavery or slave trading allowed per se, human trafficking is  one of the largest issues on a global scale currently. Millions of women, men, and children are forced into labor and/or sexual exploitation while being trafficked. This is only one of the current violations of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights however, there are many many more going on in the world at this moment.

A couple decades ago, there was a mass genocide called the Holocaust that was subjected towards the Jewish people. After the majority of the Jewish population was persecuted and killed, world leaders across the globe decided to come together to create a set of articles to help prevent anything like the Holocaust from happening again, but to also lay out the right that every human is subjected to at birth. It’s interesting to see how far we’ve come, but I can’t help to wonder if we can go further. The cattle car rides weren’t the only time when there was lack of substance to ingest. While staying at the camps, inmates were given small rations per day resulting in all the prisoners being EXTREMELY undernourished and unhealthy.
