Strengths

Sg Total Defense has become an all-rounder response to the changing threats and challenges facing Singapore on all fronts.

Defence is not only up to the military but to all sectors of society including civilian from attacks, both military and non-military.

Weaknesses

The bystander effect - Diffusion of responsibility: When there are many people present, each individual may assume that someone else will take action and help the person in need. End up no one helps.

The friction between the government and business community over the financial and social costs of sustaining the defence sector. Some business leaders were reluctant to grant workers leave for reserve training.

At one point, 40% of Singaporeans thought that national service was a waste of time and money. Therefore, they will not put their heart and sweat in SG Total Defences.
