-Notable instances of heavy resistance against the oppression from the wealthy include: 

-The Tenant riots of New York and New Jersey in the 1750's and 1760's

-The Regulator movement, where powerful white farmers organized a movement against

wealthy and corrupt officials between 1766-1771

11 May 1775 Many people in the Colonies abandoned everything to return to America because they 

wouldn't support the rebellion.

-Captain John Parker led his 70 men to go the green in order to see the British coming

-A few British soldiers approach and suddenly shots rang out (from both sides)

-Americans disperse, leaving 8 dead and 10 wounded

-The British then approach Concord, and are eventually driven out towards Boston by Americans
