This quote reminds me of this book. In the giver, everyone thinks about the same thing. They don’t experience any feelings and don’t have differences. The villagers don’t have noticeable differences. They live in an insanely strict community. No one can pass the curfew and no one can lie. This quote proves that if you don’t think of something different, nothing will change.  The villagers always think about the same thing so nothing changes in their lives. Just like Jonas said, they are having meaningless lives.

This quote shows the power of decisions. The villagers living in this community don't have the power to do anything in their lives because they don't have the power of decisions. Everything is strict in this community so they live boring lives. If they had the power of deciding what they want, they will change their lives in an instant.
