Trying to be friends with people in your classes will help you because you are going to be in a class with them for 10 weeks. If you need other support there are great resources for writing like the writing lab can help you talk about your writing. We can find that working on getting to know people in our classes helps us create relationships to later help get support
Jilenia Galvan
Samantha Mah
Derek Wu
Linette Yoon

Our roommates and friends are a convenient source for reviewing our work and providing feedback. Forming study groups with peers is another easily accessible way to collaborate. Beyond that, there is the tutoring center with writing assistants and clubs/ organizations on campus (e.g. poetry club and Aggie Fiction Writing Workshop). Professors and TAs can also be a good resource to reach out to.

College is a special experience and we are paying a ridiculous amount for it. Reach out to people around you. Struggling? Find or create a study group of people. Everyone is looking for the same type of thing, someone just needs to start it. We have access to an endless supply to resources, it just depends if we want to tap into them. The way Edward and Paz argue can be done by simply doing research on the internet or going to the library. The support you can find in your classes or online.

Ways we can create opportunities to collaborate after this quarter are social media platforms such as discord servers, phone numbers, instagram, and zoom to call friends. These are networks that students can use to connect with others when they want to ask for reviews, editing, and concerns. There are also tutoring offered at UC Davis, dorms where we can easily connect with one another, and academic advisors who can guide us towards the right path when we seek for help. We can also go to our teachers, and office hours to bring up any questions. These all include collaboration, not isolation which is what Edward and Paz argue about, because it helps with the continued development of our writing skills when we seek inspiration from others instead of dealing it alone.

The discord server is widely known and easily accessible for many students, and since some classes use this app already, most students already know how to navigate it. The server is user friendly and is an easy way to communicate, ask questions, or just collaborate with your peers.

Nowadays, students/writers have the ability to exchange information with each other (social media, phone numbers, e-mail, etc.). Students also have the power to create their own communities through technology. As we all have our own different paths going further in our education there are many ways that we can create opportunities for collaboration. One particular way is trying to connect with peers in different classes. This will allow us to share different ideas and perspectives on numerous topics of discussion. Another way we can improve use collaboration. going into the future is by using the resources provided to us. At UC Davis there are many opportunities to meet with others that can help in our academic success such as writing support center, study groups, workshops, office hours, etc. When emerging ourselves with all these different opportunities we will be able to improve our collaborative knowledge.

Many times, writing can seem lonely, but it's important to remember that we are not alone and there are several ways to find opportunities for collaboration. You can do this by asking peers from this writing course if they would like to revise your future work to help you out, the new people you met today or even close friends. You can also create study groups that focus on writing. Furthermore, you can also make friends in future classes that can help you with writing or ask around your dorm if anyone would like to help you out if you live on campus. You can also always reach out to professors and TAs, get writing support from the AATC writing center and attend tutoring for support.
