As we worked through case studies, I realized this was not the case at all. I had the opportunity to learn about various professions such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists and many types of wonderful organizations put in place to care for patients. I also gained a better understanding on how to provide the best care for the Indigenous culture and learned more about palliative care. I thought our main goal was to capture diagnostic images and provide the best care to patients. While this is still an important part of our job, there is more to it. While caring for a patient, my main priority was focused on the physical domain of care, which was the patient diagnosis as well as signs and symptoms and the emotional domain. My job would be to capture diagnostic images of the anatomy to allow the surgeon to locate where the injury is and the extent of it.
