I saw this beautiful rubix cube in a toy store, and expressed my desire to acquire this item. I remember my father was very understanding and wanted to buy it for me, but my mom was indignant that I would give it up like I had some other toys in the past, so she was against buying it. My father then somehow convinced my mom to go off somewhere and in the little time we had while she was busy he quickly bought it for me and told me not to show mom until we were in the car to go home.

You can't convince me they weren't awesome. I BEGGED my dad to buy me them, and when he gave in we bought a full outfit with it (riding pants, shirt, the cloth-thing under the saddle, the whip). I went to riding lessons every week in this ensemble, and if it was in the laundry i had to use coördinating colors because otherwise my life would be over.
