I've been teaching at SDCC for 25 years and have taught this subject both online and on campus. I live and work in downtown San Diego and the UNESCO world heritage city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. One of the exciting things about online learning is the potential to connect and learn wherever in the world you might be. In the past we've been lucky to have many students living, working or studying abroad join us.

My name is Rebecca, and I am a newcomer to San Diego and the west coast as a whole as of early September 2017. I am originally from upstate New York, not to be confused with New York City, though we know everyone automatically assumes I'm from the city when I say 'New York'.

I am 20 years old and am working on my third year of college. I took two years of Fine Arts in New York, which I absolutely loved, but when I took an intro to graphic design class last year for one of my fine arts electives, I fell completely in love with the subject. In my mind, it is the perfect blend of my creative passion and technical abilities. When I moved across the country, I knew I wanted to pursue design. I took the fall semester off to focus on the move, but I am so excited to be back in school.

In my free time, I paint and draw, take a bajillion pictures, write constantly, am an outdoor enthusiast, and play with my adorable puppy, Bear. I believe life is an adventure and love to travel.

My name is Elizabeth and I am very excited to be starting this class. This is my first semester at City College though I consider San Diego to be my home. I got my BA in Psychology in 2015 and then went to work on my masters in Social Work at Columbia University (NYC).

In my last semester of my masters, someone told me they had studied graphic design and I am embarrassed to admit I hadn't heard of it before. I thought, "That sounds like so much fun, why didn't anyone tell me about it? Maybe I should have done that instead..." Anyways, in my last semester of my masters, it didn't seem like a good idea to switch life paths. So I continued on. I just graduated this past May and then I started working as a therapist in LA county. I decided I didn't like it so much though so I cam back home to figure out my life lol. In doing so, I figured I might as well give a shot to things that might make me happy, such as studying graphic design!

I love all things creative, even if I'm not very good at it lol. I love photography, especially taking pictures of the people I care about. I love scrap booking, arts and crafts, DIY projects, collecting knick knacks, running and reading.

I know that this is an online class but I hope to meet some like minded individuals through this! I am also taking ARTG100. I have always wanted to live in California, so after I graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BA in Creative Media and Animation with a minor in Fine Arts, I worked for a year as a professional photographer and saved up enough to come to San Diego. I am a full time Supervisor at Banana Republic La Jolla as well as a freelance designer/illustrator on the side. I love all things visual although Illustration is my favorite vessel of artistic expression. Hello!

My full name is Liutauras, but here for everyone I go by Leo. I was born and raised in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, small country in Eastern Europe. I came two years ago and since then I am a full time student. At this moment I'm pursuing double associate in San Diego Community District - Multimedia degree in Mesa College and upcoming - Cybersecurity degree in City college.
I like hiking, playing tennis, karaoke, snowboarding, filming, 3D animation creating, movies, etc.

As probably most of the people who are interested in art, digital art, 3D animation and cinematography I dream someday to work on some bigger projects like Universal Studios or Playstation. Fingers crossed!

I attended Kearny High School- DMD where it focused on Graphic Design, there we learned the basics such as learning to use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, doing projects for clients and learning to work together as a team. After I receive my Associate’s Degree I plan to work in the Graphic Design field but also pursue a career in conceptual design at Art Center in a few more years. I really enjoy drawing and being able to create something out of my imagination and it was at an event about Art Center that inspired me to take this path aside from graphic design. When I am not busy babysitting or studying, during my free time I like to play videogames, especially the Legend of Zelda, they are my most absolute favorite games to play., but I am also a fan of fantasy RPG’s as well. I also enjoy sight-seeing, and trying out new places to eat, going to the movies, and taking occasional trips to visit amusement parks. I also enjoy reading books, watching some good anime, and spending time with my family. For me history has never been my favorite subject, to me it just means memorizing important people, dates, and events, but I do understand that It is important to have an understanding of past graphic design artists and how they contributed to the evolution of graphic design, I look forward to learning more about graphic design and have a good understanding of its history. I am from New York and we just recently moved to Sunny San Diego.
I have a bachelor in psychology, but I would love to explore my creative side and find a way to fit it with whaat I learned in my psychology classes, such as UI/UD Design, which to me are very interesting!
