Ghosh writes how support for BLM has dropped since the killing of George Floyd. He says , "Just under half of U.S. adults, 48%, currently hold favorable views of the Black Lives Matter movement, down from 61% last May, the poll found" to establish the rhetorical device Logos. Ghosh uses these facts to establish credibility and to appeal to ones logic.

The information given does a good job of continuing the conversation as it shows that BLM support is down with facts and poll data. The data presented makes the reader wonder why BLM support is down. The data presented also makes the reader wonder what could be changed to make support go up for Black Lives Matter.

Research Question: How has the severe drought in California affected agriculture and farming in the Central Valley?
 
What the audience may know about this topic: Students at Stan State and live in California probably understand that there is a severe drought in California. 
 
Questions that I have: Has the drought in California been caused by poor management of water or is it purely dependent on the lack of rain/snowfall in recent years? How have farmers been growing food with very little water? How is the drought affecting the consumer?

    • I first would read the title, if the title would help answer the research question I'm asking or if the title would involve something in my research question, I would skim through the article. As I skimmed, I look for information that would help me answer my research question.
    • What was difficult about the reading process?
    Much of the reading was extremely scientific and worded in a way that was difficult to understand. 
    • What helped? 
    I think this process would be much more difficult with out having a research question- I wish they taught us that in high school.

    Do you include information that is difficult to understand even though it supports your research statement or thesis?

    The victim's name is Karen Zandarski. She is a white female, in her mid to late thirties, approximately 5'7'', 135 pounds, with brown/red hair, with  green eyes. 
    After the autopsy, it is evident that Zandarski was electrocuted to death near her laptop on an anonymous street in Modesto, California. It has also become evident that she was murdered.
