Most students now are more familiar with technology, they enjoy using devices and the different engaging softwares/websites to accompany/enhance their learning in classrooms. Perhaps these ICT tools are also more visually appealing to the students who have a shorter attention span nowadays.

ICT tools also help to consolidate learning points which proves to be much easier than a manual consolidation by the teacher/students. The ease provided by the different features of the websites and apps allows for better time allocation during the lesson for other areas.

Collaborative Learning - there was a time where students had to email each other and get the replies really slowly before meeting face-to-face. But with platforms such as Google Drive and Google slides, collaborative learning can be done at the drop of a hat during class as well as after class hours.

Differentiated Learning - nowadays students are born in the native ict age and they no longer have to be stifled by the banking education of the teachers constantly giving them information and instead they are able to move around while learning and utilise apps that help them learn better according to their own learning styles (visual, kinaesthetic)

Gamification of the classroom - the use of kahoot, quizzes and socratic seminars are a good way for teachers to collate immediate information on the students diagnostic ability and feedback on their teaching. sense of healthy competition as well.

ICT speaks to a 'language' that the students are accustomed to and have the capital to access. This would make learning less foreign to them. ICT is also time-efficient (saves time). ICT also has the benefit of being a synchronous platform with the added benefit (double-edged sword) of anonymity (real-time editing in a way that doesn't make the students self-conscious, especially when pointing out mistakes etc)
