He was the first known to believe you can be both Christian and educated, in controversy to what the Catholic churches believed at this time. He lit the way for the value for human knowledge, and believed that education was important for man kinds growth, as he not only taught in multiple schools, but he also established several schools in hopes to create more buzz about being educated.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Martin Luther was a Catholic priest who wrote a 95-page thesis about his disagreements with the Roman Catholic Church, one of which was the importance of education. The church believed that formal education was unnecessary for the general public and instead passed down the word of the bible. Luther believed that people were meant to read the Bible and draw their own conclusions from it. Agreeing with Luther meant that education was important for all. Essentially, education was the means of obtaining salvation.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

The Jesuits worked to establish schools to further the cause of the Catholic Roman Church, trying to stem the flow of converts to the cause of reformation. What began with religious intent grew into a great teaching order that was very successful in training its teachers. A revised edition of the rules that they used to run their schools is still used in Jesuit schools today. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
