Survey Development

Having a well written survey can be a crucial part when you are beginning to conduct a needs assessment. Having a nice quality survey using the correct materials, wording, etc, can help you evaluate for programs effectiveness. It is important to gain knowledge on the feedback and look for any improvements and changes that you can make. It is always beneficial to see your assessment from another set of eyes and you might come up with ideas that you wouldn't have ever thought of without those outside "voices," you could call it.

Goals & Objectives

Using goals and objectives can be used to create a base for future programs and assessments that you are building. Having all three of these tools (mission statement, goals, and objectives), creates the direction for your program and can give people an outlook on what the focus is and what you are aiming to change. Building good goals and objectives also needs to include "SMART." To help measure how realistic it can be and how achievable it is.

Code of Ethics

I believe before 3071, Code of Ethics was not talked about as much as it should be and how it is such an important step that should not be skipped over. Ethics has a huge meaning on doing no harm, respecting people, their civil/legal rights, and overall doing what is best for everyone. When making any decisions in the health education world, and our role as a health educator, you have to be aware of your word choices and know that you are going to meet people of all places and generations. Having a good code of ethics can eliminate those health disparities that could possibly happen within the profession.
