Alton Towers supports the neighbourhood by providing jobs. Around 2,500 locals are employed by Alton Towers. Alton Towers earned £1.74 billion in revenue in 2019, which has a beneficial economic impact on the neighbourhood because visitors' wages are spent locally. The multiplier effect is used to describe this. Although many of the jobs at Alton Towers are seasonal, people lose their jobs throughout the year. A 10-year plan, however, to increase tourism in Staffordshire by keeping Alton Towers open all year round is being proposed. The theme park would create more jobs and more long-term positions if it were open all year. With more money, the local area can improve its infrastructure, which could include new hotels, roads, and railways, which will benefit the local population in terms of accessibility and employment. The more money that Alton Towers generates will also benefit the local area and contribute to the local GDP.

It is also reported that Alton Towers gives away roughly £50,000 worth of tickets to the local community and charities.

Each year, Alton Towers allocates funds for eco-friendly projects including LED lighting, solar PV, variable speed drives, and water efficiency management at the attraction in order to cut carbon emissions and manage climate change. Alton Towers is now taking a number of steps to address climate change, including investing in on-site renewable resources, recycling waste whenever possible, and creating electricity from it. The attraction is working to eliminate single-use plastic from the attraction in an effort to lessen plastic pollution. By putting these programmes in place, you can help the environment by increasing awareness of environmental problems. Also, some visitors are inspired to visit specific places if they feel like they're contributing in some way.

Alton Towers have their own environmental team who monitor the traffic, help improve congestion around the local village at peak times and have their own litter pickers who are there to maintain the local area and keep it clean and looking prestige.

Technology is used by Alton Tower for a variety of purposes, including expanding consumer reach, enhancing customer service, and enhancing communication. Guests can make reservations online and then scan a QR code on their ticket when they arrive. Also, Alton Towers collaborated with Coca-Cola in 2019 to test autonomous robots that would carry drinks to customers. Although technology excites customers and makes things more convenient for them, this has the drawback that, although employing locals for some professions, such as selling tickets and scanning tickets as you enter the park, fewer humans will be required as a result of technology taking their place. This will have a detrimental effect. A positive impact is how people are now booking tickets online via the Alton Towers website this would mean that less cars are going to get tickets from there therefore this is stopping congestion.

Every year, Alton Towers hosts fundraising events, such as bake sales for certain causes, McMillion coffee mornings, family fun nights, and memorabilia auctions, to help earn money for Merlin's Magic Wand and other worthwhile causes. In addition, Alton Towers Resort donates money to Staffordshire-based charities and community involvement initiatives, hosts overnight stays for children receiving end-of-life care from nearby hospices, and offers educational and training programmes like Princes Trust. Events organised by Alton Towers are beneficial because they involve locals and inspire them to contribute to the tourism vision. By doing this, the brand and attraction will be seen as positively supporting the neighbourhood. Alton Towers biggest competitor is Drayton Manor, something I believe Alton Towers should consider offering is their hotel as a wedding venue as there is an increase in people opting to host their big say at a unique venue. By offering this they could work alongside local suppliers therefore supporting local businesses or employee people within the area of expertise required.

Four individuals were hurt in an accident in 2015 that occurred on one of the attraction's most well-known rides. The park was immediately shut down while an examination was being conducted. The number of visitors to the site reportedly substantially decreased in the months that followed, though. This meant that the neighbourhood companies that gained from the theme park's knock-on effects suffered. As a result, the local businesses that depend on tourism from customers to Alton Towers would suffer if something similar has happened in the future. The local economy would suffer as tourists would avoid the attraction. This could then also negatively impact the business in terms of their profit which could result in decreasing employment and the ability to expand.

A 10-year plan to increase tourism in Staffordshire by keeping Alton Towers open all year round is something that is now being considered. The theme park would create more jobs and more long-term positions if it were open all year. Even so, I also believe that if Alton Towers were open all year long, they could decrease the number of visitors because the major complaint from visitors is that the queues are too long and ruin their day. The park is also close to other local attractions, such as Wildlife Park. I believe that Alton Towers could cooperate with Awesome Walls and Wetley Moor Alpacas and provide a combined ticket price. This would entice tourists to stay for more than a single day in the region along with helping other visitors attractions out in the local area.
