A tournament is an event that can last over a period of time such as a few days or possibly a weekend. Tournament's are most common for being knockouts where there will be 2 teams remaining which will try and win through getting to the final of a tournament. For example a football tournament would last approximately a day where a variety of teams battle to win after reaching a final or sometimes through points won on matches. Another prime and professional example that would come under a tournament is the World Cup. To start the World cup all of the countries of the world that wish to take part must go through a group of qualifying games before qualifying to the group stages of the tournament. In total there are 209 international countries going through the qualifying round before next year's tournament takes place in Russia. 32 teams will qualify for the first round of the group stages out of the 209 that goes through the qualifying round. The top 2 teams of each group will qualify with the third team having a play off depending on how many points they have earned by the end of the qualifying campaign. This is the official website covering the 2018 World Cup which I have included on the underneath.

A competition is a more known and common type of event which will take place around the same time as a league. Two main known competitions is the Champions League and the Europa League which is only allowed for European club teams to participate. Not all club teams are allowed to particpate in competitions unless they have won the league they particpate in or they have finished higher enough to qualify for that competition. The last two winners of the Champions League were Real Madrid. Real Mdrid currently hold the record of winning the Champions League 12 times and Sevilla have won the Europa League more than any other European club 5 times.

Training camps are known as a camp to where a club will go for a period of a few days or a few weeks during a break in their season or during pre season to train in different climates. Most camps usually take place over in the United States, or a few of the main capitals over in Europe. This will usually be availabler for the main top flight clubs such as the Premier League, LaLiga and so on. Its usually the manager of the team which will select where he prefers his club to travel over a break as he knows what sort of whether he wants therm to be training in and where is suitable for his and their needs. For example Everton's current manager Ronald Koeman will take his team away for a weeks warm weather training camp in February to Dubai and usually visits the likes of Holland and Austria over pre season. The image included is the Everton's first team cooling off after a hard training session away in Austria over pre season.
