Plants are essential for the earth and humans to function. These natural resources control the water cycle, dispensing and purifying our water. Plants help control climate by removing CO2 from the atmosphere. Everything we eat comes from plants one way or another. I think farms or even small back yard gardens increase all of the positive aspects we receive from this indispensable resource.

Deserts are are a world biome in most danger of ecological changes. I believe this biome is in danger because of climate change and human exploitation. Warmer temperatures and and less predictable rainfall are are upsetting the delicate balance in the desert. Over exploitation of ground water is also harming this biome.

The Neolithic or First Agricultural Evolution had many impacts on human population. Because of this plant domestication there was an increase in food supply. This resulted in shorter birth intervals which caused the human population to explode. This also lead to social stratification helping individuals to pursue other opportunities such like forming governments and creating new technologies.

The third agricultural revolution is based off of extensive mechanization, heavy reliance on irrigation and chemical applications, and biotechnology. This revolution is still happening today. Farmers and scientist rely on technology and synthetic chemicals to promote crop growth, deter crop disease, prevent weeds, or solve other agricultural challenges. The image below explains when the third revolution began, what scientist are doing to the seeds, the crops impacts, and how it has impacted famine in "Hunger Areas".
