I think it is related to NGSS because we are used to teaching and accessing the product. In NGSS the focus of our class has to change from the product to the process of student discovery.

The backwards brain bike video highlights how knowledge and understanding are not one in the same. This relates to NGSS implementation because it is necessary to totally change the lens through which these new standards are implemented compared to how things have always been done.

Using NGSS is still teaching science but using a new and different approach.

Elexis- It's funny trying to watch someone "unlearn" something that should come so easily. With the NGSS, it's daunting because you want to teach differently, welcome the shift, but also have to still include current standards and ways.
