I think birds are very intelligent because in the text states "The tube contained water and a floating worm. The worm, however, was too far down for the birds to reach. All four birds used the stone-dropping trick spontaneously, without being prompted. In addition, they appeared to estimate how many stones they would need. The birds learned quickly that larger stones worked better to raise the water level. As soon as the worm was within reach, all four birds stopped dropping stones into the container and took the worm." This proves that birds are very intelligent and can figure out very complex puzzles to get what they want.

Also, They used the stone dropping strategy on their own, without being forced to do it. Another Quote that supports my opinion is, "In addition, they appeared to estimate how many stones they would need." This second quote proves that the birds guessed how many stones they would need just by looking at them. To sum things up, I strongly believe that birds can be intelligent.

Mocking birds remember who you are, even if you wear different clothes. Crows are smart enough to use rocks to raise the water level in a narrow picher so that they can reach their food. As you can see some birds are very smart.

After reading these articles, I consider birds to be very intelligent. In the articles, two different experiments were performed and the results of these prove that birds are very smart. According to the text, 2 scientists, Bird and Emery, showed four birds a clear plastic tube with water and food at the bottom. The text states "All four birds used the stone-dropping trick spontaneously, without being prompted" to raise the water level in order to reach the food. This shows that the birds were smart enough to figure out how to use tools to solve a problem.

In the second article, a group a scientists from the University Of Florida performed an experiment with mocking birds. The study took place around the university campus in Gainesville, Florida. They had the same student approach and touch a mockingbird nest several days in a row. "The birds began reacting to the human in advance starting on day three. Some birds fled the nest. Others sounded alarms. Some mockingbirds started dive-bombing the researcher." This proves that the birds were smart enough to recognize the human and prepare to defend its nest.

The article: "Bird Brains? Not These Birds!" and the article: "Don't Mess With Mockingbirds" shows that birds are smart. One quote from the article: "Bird Brains? Not These Birds!" is: " A new study, though, found that at least one of Aesop's fables might really have happened." This shows that these birds arwe pretty smart if this happened in the story already. One quote from the article: "Don't Mess With Mockingbirds" is: "On day three, the birds began reacting before the student got to the nest. Some birds flew away. Some sounded alarms. Others attacked the student. The birds didn't bother other people. On the fifth day, each mockingbird nest was touched by a different student. This time, the birds didn't react ahead of time." This shows that Mockingbirds can remember the faces of people if they come to them 2 or 3 times. To sum it all up, Birds can be very smart most of the time.

I think birds are very intelligent. In the moral "The Crow and the Pitcher", a thirsty crow comes across a pitcher of water. But the water is too low for the bird to reach. The crow raises the water level by dropping stones into the pitcher. Some scientists wanted to know if crows are really that smart so they did a test to find out. In the experiment the two scientists observed that the rooks learned quickly without a prompt. The birds succeeded. They took the rocks to rise the water level. This proves that the rooks worker very well with new tools.

I also think that mocking birds are very intelligent birds. As stated in the article "Don't Mess with Mockingbirds", Scientists also studied Mockingbirds. They found that the mockingbirds remember people who might harm their nests. As you can see, these two studies prove that the birds such as rooks and mockingbirds are very smart!

After reading the article, I DEFINITELY think that birds are smart. An example that shows how birds are smart, in article 1, states " All four birds used the stone-dropping trick spontaneously, without being prompted. In addition, they appeared to estimate how many stones they would need. The birds learned quickly that using larger stones was more effective at raising the water level." This shows that the birds know how to get what they want without being told how. Another example, in article 2, states "....scientists found that mockingbirds are able to learn to recognize people who have previously threatened their nests. The birds are also quick to react to people they don't like." This proves that the mockingbirds have a very good memory to know who previously threatened their nest. In conclusion, birds are very smart.

I think that birds are very smart because rooks know how to drop stones into water to drink it. So the rooks are very smart because they know how to solve complex processes, and that is pretty smart for a bird. Another way birds are smart is that they are able to recognize if people are threatening their nest. This shows that birds are smart because the birds are able to recognize if people are bothering them or their nest so they attack.
