I chose this picture because this is a great example of contemporary social change that is going on in the world right now. Covid has affected many people's lives in the past year whether it is school, work, or even deaths in families, it has really taken a big toll on all of us. In the book, it states “Social change has many causes. In a world linked by sophisticated communication and transportation technology, change in one place often sets off change elsewhere."

Hundreds of individuals gathered together to fight for a change, which is a remarkable example of collective behavior. As stated in the nook “ Collective behavior is activity involving a large number of people that is unplanned, often controversial, and can bring about change.” (  Macionis p. 528 )

I thought this would be a perfect example that I also witness on a daily basis. Nowadays people forget how to have face-to-face conversations and always have to be distracted while having conversations with one another.
