I would use Unite for Literacy for Audio Assisted Readings. In the past, I have used Unite for Literacy for students to browse and read texts, but now I would be incorporating in the read along focus for students. I would model the process and then allow students to practice this.

First, I plan to use MANY of these resources with my own 10 year-old daughter who struggles to read/comprehend due to English being her second language. I really like Epic, but unfortunately, I teach supplemental classes for students that are outside the hours of 7-3, so I'm not sure I'll be able to use it. I think the audio-assisted plans are great because most of my learners are ESL students--sometimes, it is simply too difficult to decode the words AND comprehend the meaning of the text.

I mainly use audio assisted reading in my classroom for my struggling readers. That way they hear what fluent reading sounds like and they can practice their prosody, intonation and attention to punctuation.

I would have my students explore the sites and choose a reading that matches the study topic they are currently studying. I think this would work two-fold. They would get practice with reading comprehension and fluency, and they would learn information that would assist them in studying their current material.

I would use Unite for Literacy during my guided reading block. During this time students engage in Daily 5 activities. During "Read to Self" they would have the opportunity to use iPads to read books on this site.

I have students in a resource room for 55 minutes. I will use the first ten minutes to complete a "Do Now". I have been looking for Read Works and EPIC types of matirals for some time that are appropriate for high school students. I will post the assignment to Google Classroom students then have 10 minutes to read and answer the comprehension questions. the following day we will go over the results and I will take the time to do a think aloud and discuss comprehension strategies along our journey.

I would use EPIC reading with my students. The Read-to-Me sections appears to be helpful for my primary grade students. I like that a box surrounds a word as it is being read so that the students can read along. After browsing the site, I can see that there are a variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction. This array of books should not only appeal to the students but increase their knowledge as well as reading skills.

I would like to employ it for my lowest readers and EBB stude ts to model provide for them. They could practice over multiple sessions. I also teach 1st grade.

Uniteforliteracy.com - I would use this site in my small reading groups to have the students listen to the reader, read after me, read as a whole group (4-5 students in my group), and maybe later independently. I'd teach chunking, phrasing, and how to pause appropriately at punctuation.

Since I teach little kids (k-2) I will add a link of a pre-selected book related to the unit I am teaching. I would love to get parents involve, and perhaps share some time at home going one of the readings.

I think I would look to ReadWorks. They have a passage about the Jim Crow South that sounds very interesting

For students that need extra help on specific skills such as Point of view, I would assign an article that focuses on the skill with the audio option. Or, I could use one of the Target Lessons to focus on POV to reteach the skill and have the students do the audio reading and activity questions on their own.

News in Levels I use Common Lit a lot, because it can read to them and has reading checks as they go. I love how there are other resources connected and that articles are grouped in thematic ways. I wanted to try a new one.

I will use ReadWorks to find interesting and varied content for my gr 3 students. I will use it most likely for Social Studies, Science, or SEL.

Epic, I would use for Reading for fluency and deeper learning.

I would use Epic, to help enhance practice of reading;; with reading in a content area. Hopefully, it could lead to the creation of their own audio book

I choose Read Works because I am familiar with 3 of the others and I wanted something new. I would use Readworks as a way to have students become subject matter experts. They could read the article several times and either record themselves talking about it, for those who are nervous public speakers, or “present” to the class!

I would use CommonLit for my middle-schoolers. I would have them pick a reading passage of interest to them and have them record 5 minutes of reading out aloud (Using Vocaroo) during part of their independent reading time. I would have them do it every day to increase their reading stamina.

I really loved all the platforms shared for audio assisted readings however my favorite so far is lit2go because it provides authentic materials audios as well as pdfs for students to read along with the narrator. I would use this platform to work on vocabulary and grammar points in context as well as assigning homework !
