With this simulation, I believe that the issue was not that we had a limited amount of supplies/limited amount of time to complete the activity, but that we rushed into the activity thinking it was about who could get it done the fastest. In order to survive in this simulation, we needed to step back and take a minute to look at our surroundings and the supplies we were given. If every group had done that, we would have all noticed that on the sheets with the template for the igloo and the poncho, it directly said that the pictures were not the correct measurements. This can be applied to how we act in the real world.. Sometimes we get too caught up in what other people are doing around us and we don't take time to think for ourselves to make rational decisions. Speaking for my group, we would have all survived if the measurements we needed were taken into consideration.

The problem had to do with the lack of efficiency within the groups. Having to produce enough supplies that acted as the basic necessities of life got difficult, because as consumers, we each need the same basic essentials to survive, yet resources are limited. Having to share and disperse these resources within each group provided an outlook on problems within our world. Lacking of resources within countries overwhelmed by poverty is a huge survival issue for citizens living in these areas of the world.

Though these materials may not be as comfortable and stable as others; we were still able to complete the task with cheaper and less sturdy materials. This goes to show that we can live off of the cheaper things in life, we don't always need to have the new and improved expensive tools that most people use nowadays. We also used less materials which is safer for the economy.
