Other sources say over 800,000. An estimated 10,000 people died daily. Supposedly, 3/4 of the Tutsi population were killed. People were killed by clubs and machetes. Also, people were slaughtered. They lacked high tech weapons. The Hutu usually tortured their victims before executing them. Because most Hutu used hand help weapons, it was a slow and painful death for most people. The US also tried to hide the fact that this was a genocide. They made us believe that it was just a simple civil war.
