2)Despite the challenges that we may face by intergrating smart characteristics into singapore,We already have many smart items put in place before the idea was popularized.There are things such as robots and drones in restraunts and retail shops that have recieved much praise from their customers through improving their shopping experience.The fact that our LED lights are smart as well is beneficial to our efforts towards becoming a green Singapore.Smart LED lights have already been implemented in other countries and this helps us reduce energy costs and use energy more efficiently.
Some experinces i have with smart cities are AI implemented in restraunts that eliminate the need for waiters.Even though this eliminated the need for waiters,This shifts the focus from low-grade jobs to more higher-grade jobs and thus improving our gdp growth as we move on to jobs that require higher skills.Governments have implemented many forms of subsidies to those that have lost their jobs in this evolution to a smart city such as skills improvemnts to increase their job opportunities in other industries.

As Singapore becomes a smart city, we become less and less independent and more reliant on things like technology. Things we used to do on our own from scratch such as keeping track of events, decorations and even having day to day things done by a robot. I mean, there’s a line that we shouldn’t cross. Though I know that not everyone is smart and able to drive well, I think that self driving cars would make us all a lot more anxious. What if the car malfunctions? What if it is out of battery? What if it was altered by people with bad intentions and the car ends up driving off a cliff? We can’t depend on machines for everything! I know that drunk and/or irresponsible drivers exist out there, but most drivers are able to drive responsibly! Machines are scary... Robots are cool though. But no, they’re scary too. I get that they’re helpful and all, but... But c’mon! A bug or two and suddenly I have a robot trying to murder me. But other than that, the concept of smart city... Mmm, not gonna lie, it’s a good concept. The future! But there are some things that should remain... Dumb? Normal? Like shops. Some shops these days don’t let people pay with cash anymore, but with credit cards and our phones. Sure, many of us would benefit, but there are millions of homeless and poor people all over the world who depend solely on cash as payment. They would depend on machines to do everything for them, and that may mean that they would not learn skills such as cleaning and cooking since, well, why learn those skills when you got a cool robot to do that for you? What if we run out of electricity and suddenly all machines don’t work anymore?! How would we survive?! “Oh no, my robot doesn’t work anymore! Now who is gonna clean my house, cook for me and pour a glass of water for me? How am I supposed to pick up a glass and pour water in it?! This is impossible!” In a nutshell, I think that smart city is a good idea. There are good ideas out there that’ll benefit us all and make life much more convenient. In my opinion, Singapore being a smart city is bad for the country. It is bad because many singaporeans will lose their jobs. Due to artificial intelligence, cars and buses are not going to need a real bus driver anymore. bus drivers and taxi drivers will eventually lose their jobs. Waiters and Waitresses will also lose their jobs as robots will now serve humans. This will result in a lot of people being jobless and unable to make a living. 2. I sit on the fence on this one. On one hand the improvement of technology can help to do things us humans cannot do ourselves for example find cures for illnesses and save lives as well as do simple jobs that will save us time. Some challenges Singapore may face as it advances into a smart city is its elder generation. Technology is developing at a rate so quick that what a phone means now is different from what it meant 10 years ago and this leads to a problem with our senior generation as they do not have the knowledge to advance with our society. So this begs the question how to help the elderly to adapt? Another point I want to bring up is that this smart city concept may or may not end up going down the road of failure. It’s like the idea of communism it’s good in theory but put it in real life and all sorts of things go wrong, for example let’s say you want to automate the streetlights to be based on the light remaining. You will need sensors to feel ,taste and see on their behalf and this leads to the issue of sensory overload if we were to attach one sensor to one lampost, we would still have too much data to efficiently handle and process. One might say we’ll use a better processor but the problem is that right now we are only talking about automating a simple function of turning the lights on and off and if we are already using our better processors to do this ‘simple’ task then one might ask wouldn’t it be more efficient to just have a human press a button to turn it on and off? Another issue is the issue of power. The concept of a smart city is based on the idea that the machines would do all the work and the humans will enjoy. This exposes a major flaw as looking at the world’s largest economies you would see that none are producing even 1 trillion batteries now I use the word even due to the sheer power consumption of a smart city just based on powering it’s sensors alone. Our current energy Paradigms predict us being unable to power above 1 trillion devices let alone a million per city for it’s sensory processing and computing devices. Q2      I think AI is a boon as it will help us in our daily lifes and more advanced technological break throughs. AI can work more effectively than human as there is no need for sleep and they don't get ill . Machines obviously need to be charged or refueled sometime so that they can work again. one of the challenges is that people will tend to rely heavily on technology. With everything made easier, or completely done for us, through the use of technology, people are slowly but surely forgetting how to to do certain things on our own. As technology becomes an integral part of our lives, we cannot live without them. This is also true for children, they are becoming more and more focused on things like the internet and video games that they are spending much lesser time outside and being active.
The other challenge is that Smart cities are exposed to a diverse set of cyber security threats and criminal misuses. In this environment, a single smart city vulnerability, when exploited by an individual or organized group, may put the entire city at risk.

 I think AI is beneficia as it makes jobs easier and increases productivity. With the replacement of men by efficient AI, productivity is undoubtedly increasing as AI can perform their work continuously as long as they are supplied power.
