Whether you were mine 50 years ago, or 20, I hope you still feel inspired by what you learned from me. I hope you have taken something from my class with you through all these years. I hope you still feel the connections we built during that time— a tug of fond memories and love poured into you. Please know that I think of each of you often. No matter what you’ve been through, or where you’ve ended up, I am still cheering for you. I still believe you can make a difference. You are never too lost. If you are in a place that is dark, you feel damaged, or worthless, remember that I am still in your corner and I’m never too far. If you need encouragement, I’m here to tell you this: You already are who you want to be. You are loved. Your life is important. You matter to me. Breathe those words in. Speak them out loud to yourself when you need them. Write them on your heart as true. Always remember— I am here for you.
