Bahamas The Commonwealth of Independent Islands (The Bahamas) is a country consisting of seven hundred islands, two thousand and four hundred small islands, two thousand three hundred and eighty-seven rocks spread in the Caribbean over a distance of more than 8,624 km, and is bordered by several countries are Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and the two islands Caicos and Turks. The Bahamas was a British colony, and it became independent in one thousand nine hundred and seventy-three A.D. and relied on tourism as a source of income as it is a country that lacks natural resources, but its location gives it the qualities of mystery and uniqueness, as many European and African cultures have passed through. The Bahamas possesses a community mixed with the cultures of Europe and Africa. These islands inherited African culture through slave trade and the introduction of a farm system with the help of African slaves. The development of the financial sector has helped tourism maintain a relatively high standard of living for the inhabitants of the Bahamas
