I believe the creature is inhuman because of his its appearance. For example, according to page 41,” His skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath; his hair was of a lustrous black, and flowing; his teeth of a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid contrast with his eyes . . .”(41). This shows that the creature beheld many traits that differed itself form a human including height, strength,skin, and envisioned inhuman beauty.
