This shows that the creature became enraged when Victor destroyed his mate. He also vowed to get revenge on Victor which is a very human thing to do. Clearly, the creature experiences feelings and emotions, thus making him human.

I think the creature is human because he consists of human body parts and because he can read and communicate with humans. For example, the illustrations show Victor with human bones and organs for the assembly of the creature (38-39). This means the creature consists of human body parts. This is significant because humans all have the same structure of bones and organs, and the creature also shares the same body parts. The illustrations also show that the creature is able to read (101-102). This means the creature is able to understand human language. In addition to reading, the creature can speak and communicate with humans through the human language, as well as understand what other people are saying. Only humans are known to fully understand and have the ability to fluently speak human languages. Clearly, because he consists of human body parts and because he can read and communicate with humans, the creature is human.

The creature is human because he has morals and emotions just like we do. For example, "How can I move thee? Believe me, Frankenstein: I was benevolent; my soul glowed with love and humanity: but am I not alone, miserably alone?" This demonstrates that the creature had showed love and care towards humans before. He says himself that he once had love and humanity. He has been left alone, and he clearly can feel loneliness as well. He also seems to have a concept of morals, as he knows that the actions of Frankenstein and others towards him were unfair. Therefore, I believe that the creature is human because he demonstrates a key factor in humanity; emotions and morals.

I believe the creature is not human because he has unusual physical features not common in a normal human being. For instance, this next quote shows just how odd the creature looks, “His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath...formed a more horrid contrast with his watery eyes, that seemed almost of the same colour as the dun white sockets in which they where set, his shriveled complexion, and straight black lips” (Grimly 41 ). Also, we know that the creature is some eight feet tall. In my opinion, these features are just too abnormal to be considered human. The creature may feel and/or act like a human, however he does not look like a human and never will.

For example, according to the novel, the creature speaks to Victor and says, "You have destroyed the work which you began; what is it that you intend?" (Shelly 140). This shows how the creature has the ability to speak and communicate with other human beings. This portrays that he has human traits that clearly make him human.

'My enemy is not impregnable; this death will carry despair to him, and a thousand other miseries shall destroy him.'"(113).

I think that the creature is human because he is extremely observant and has the ability to feel strong emotions and communicate in a rational way. According to the pciture in the novel on pages 92-100 when the creature is watching the little family in the house, he observes them so carefully and contently that he realizes that they needed help and then he gave them that help. He also smiles, cries, and appears to be thinking in some pictures. If he wasn't human it could be arguable that he would be able to feel emotions and be able to communicate the way he does.

According to the text, "I collected bones from charnel houses: and disturbed, with profane fingers, the tremendous secrets of the human frame" (37). This demonstrates that Victor dug up human parts to put the creature together with. This makes him human as his system is human.

"The love of another will destroy the cause of my crimes. My vices are the children of a forced solitud that I abhor; and my virtues will necessarily arise when I live in communion with an equal. I shall feel the affections of a sensitive being, and become linked to the chain of existence and events, from which I am now excluded" (Grimly 117). The creature is not heartless. He wants a chance to be happy and have someone to care about. His feelings matter because a human is capable of the ups and downs of life. He is one of the unlucky beings that have a rough life. If the creature were a monster, he would not think twice to destroy humanity. The creature wants to make a deal to keep peace between him and other humans.

I think the creature is human. For instance, "My heart was fashioned to be susceptible of love and sympathy; and, when wrenched by misery to vice and hatred, it did not endure the violence of change without torture, such as you cannot even imagine" (Grimly 190). The creature experiences complex emotions such as guilt and sympathy. He also has a conscience, governed by morals, that makes him feel guilty after murdering someone. Part of being human is not only having complex emotions, but having a conscience and knowing when something is immoral. The creature knows what he did was wrong and wants to make things right. For this reason, the creature is human.

I believe the creature is human because while he may not look like one, his feelings and the way he speaks of things show that he thinks like one. In the images where he is in the forest, he shows great remorse when he finds out that the family that owned to house he was hiding in had little firewood and food. He stopped eating as much and got them plenty of firewood out of the kindness from his heart. Another time he showed kindness similar to that of a human was when he saved the lady from drowning. While he did get shot and left out of fear, he didn't have to save the woman but he did. These moments show that he does experience different emotions that humans experience as well.

This means that the creature has the capability of expressing feelings. This is significant because being a human means to have emotions. The creature was born with the same range of emotions as any other human, love and happiness. He bears the same kind of flesh and bones as the rest of the world, he could walk and talk. He wore clothing as having the same body parts as us. These traits convey that he is human despite his appearance.
