This is a device/machine that transmits messages or music through sound to other peoples houses. No one is really sure who exactly came up with the idea. Most people say it was a bunch of people who made it and came up with the idea. The idea was first started around 1820. The radio took a long time before it was actually released to the public for use.

Radios are still very common today. Many people still have them in there house to listen to music, also almost every car has one build into it so people can hear the news or listen to music while in the car. And still radios are used for information, education and even fun. We still listen to music today. The weather does get brought on the radio for people who are in the car.

Before 1920 comunication was harder. Telegraph wires could not reach certain places. Thanks to the radio, those places that were out of reach were able to get in reach. The military also used the radio waves to comunicate, they comunicated with other troops and ships. The radio also allowed ships to keep in touch with the shore. This allowed them to call for help or assistance. Thanks to the radio people where able to keep in touch with the news as it happened. Unlike newspapers radios could broadcast more recent news. The radio provided entertainment for people, they where able to listen to music or listen to other things like sport recordigs etc.

The radio was originally made for the millitary because they used for communication from one base to another. The radio had a different way of information. The T.V was not created at this time and the news paper was the only way of information on what goes on in the town/city/world. The radio became very convenient and was almost everywhere. The spread of the radio was growing very fast.

The car radio was created not long after the radio itself. People loved this new form of it because you were able to get information, listen to music and just having entertainment in a car. The batteries that were used were big and they were also stored in awful places including in the back seat and under the steering wheel. Most people like the invention because rather than not being able to listen to music or the news in the car, you were able to do those things.
