Q3. An event that happens in the book is Jeannette getting burned and she had to be rushed to the hospital but then her and her parents pulled her out of the hospital while she was still recovering. I think the purpose was to talk about how much she had to take care of her self while her parents couldn't.

Q8. The mood that is created in the book is dramatic because when her parents were sneaking her out of the hospital. When her dad is sneaking out he has Jeannette in arms running down the hall and a nurse yelled at them to stop then he pushed open and emergency door and stared to sprint down the stairs out to the streets.

• One of the social issues that were presented in the book was health because all the stress that's been going on in Jeannette's life might be affecting her mental health. All the dysfunction that has been happening with her like Billy trying to rape is an example of a traumatizing moment that could affect her for the rest of her life. Another example is her dad having a drinking problem that is one thing that could help mess her up badly. events like Rex burning down the christmas tree and ruining christmas is something that could stick with her for the rest of her life and mess her up mentally. Lots of things happened in Jeannette's life that could mess up her mental health and cause her to be an unstable person.

• I don't share any similar experiences with the characters except for my mom telling me to be grateful for what I have like Jeannette's mom told her.
