On January 26, 1998, President Bill Clinton gave the now famous saying, addressing, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." So that means, he lied to the public under oath about not having a sexual relationship with Monica. The Senate and House Republicans loved this. This was the perfect event to settle him for impeachment for lying under oath and sexual misconduct. To most Democrats in the Senate and House, that made no sense. It was consensual and they both knew what they were doing. A lawsuit was filed against Clinton by a woman named Paula Jones who accused him of sexual harassment before his presidency but that was overturned. And then of course for lying under oath about his sexual relationships with Monica Lewinsky. Many Democrats thought this impeachment was pointless. The irony is that what the Republicans did to Clinton for his impeachment is very similar to what the Democrats played in President Donald Trump's impeachment. But why did they think the reasons for Clinton's impeachment was ridiculous? Many had the same answer of how is Clinton's private sexual life affecting the government. How does him having sexual relations with another woman have  anything to do with the government and his presidency. That's something private and personal. The numbers were very close considering the voting done by the House of Representatives and Senate on his impeachment. They had their relationship for about 2 years and mostly had oral sex and phone sex. He also gave numerous gifts such as a green book that was about romance that meant a lot to her. Before the affair they had many flirtatious moments and she developed her "crush". They began there sexual relationship and kept it a secret. After the events came out, the media treated Lewinsky horribly. She even attempted suicide. People were calling her a slut and body shamed her. Now she's spreading her message with others who have been in the same position so the thing that happened to her wouldn't happen to other women. The main evidence that confirmed that her and Clinton had been sexually active was the stain of Bill Clinton's spermatic fluid on her blue dress. I never knew the exact reasons why President Clinton was impeached. I personally think the reasons for his impeachment was not necessary. I think that is Clintons and Lewinsky's decision to do the acts that they have done. I don't think it has anything to do with the government and the way he runs the country.
