This song was huge in 2018 largely in part to how much gun violence there was. I think this music video relates perfectly to what "what we call the news" was trying to say, the music and fancy dancing in this video is a distraction from what was really going on with the guns in it. But weirdness, this commercial included, is an attention grabber. It wouldn't necessarily make me want to go to iHop but you would talk about this commercial and remember it for longer than a usual one. In the video it talks about the mauling at the zoo. While this is for a charity and they arent really trying to sell something this ad does an effective job of making you stop and feel. It always makes me sad when it comes on and makes me want to help these animals.
