While the formula is simple, the four bonds proved to be more <a href="http://www.chemistry2011.org/news/tags/Complex">complex</a>. The <a href="http://www.chemistry2011.org/news/tags/.Electrons">electrons</a> stay relatively close to each <a href="http://www.chemistry2011.org/news/tags/_Atom">atom</a>, creating ionic bonds -- not the expected <a href="http://www.chemistry2011.org/news/tags/-Electron">electron</a>-sharing <a href="http://www.chemistry2011.org/news/tags/CovalentBonds">covalent bonds</a>.
