         <description><![CDATA[<p>Due to John the sixth not returning to portrigual, the people began to outrage. This lead John to appoint his son Pedro as prince of Brazil. However, soon after Pedro's appointment the Cortes acted to strip power away from Pedro. This lead to Pedro declaring Brazil's independence from Portrigual resulting in a war between the two countries. With help from the British navy, they were able to get portrigual to surrender three major territories.</p>]]></description>

After Brazil's independence, Andrada was appointed to prime minister of the empire.
