Glaciers are melting due to greenhouse emissions. The main glacier that was discussed in this article was about the Thwaites glacier. This eastern side of this glacier is slowing melting due to higher temperatures/global warming. As this area slowly melts, it can drag the west side of the glacier with it. The impacts of this glacier melting can affect the globe. From raising the the sea level to almost 3 meters to submerging/flooding countries like my home
country (Bangladesh).

The problem that is that the Thwaites glacier is melting on the Western end of Antarctica. If this glacier melts, the sea level could rise exponentially. As well as that, that glacier melting can cause a domino effect and make other glaciers melt as well. The melting of these glaciers, as mentioned earlier, can cause the sea level to rise, which can then flood entire coastal cities and countries. These cities and countries flooding can then kill a large amount of people, which obviously isn't the greatest thing for humanity.

Problem: The problem is that man-made global warming and the growing of the ozone hole is warming waters in the Antarctic and making Thwaites glacier retreat.
Impact: The impact of the Antarctic Ice Sheet melting is that it would raise average sea levels on earth from 3-3.7m. Some land will be uninhabitable to humans due to the sea level rising and many people will have to move to higher elevation areas to survive.

The problem is that because of climate change, glaciers in Antarctica are melting. The melting of glaciers affects many things in the environment all around the world and not just in Antarctica. The Thwaites glacier specifically is in danger of melting and this could affect a lot of things in the world. The impact of this glacier melting is that it could affect the sea level rise in various different areas. Studies show that because of parts of the glacier melting, a sea level rise of 1.2 meters could occur. The melting would also trigger more ice sheet loss which means a total of 3 meters of sea level could rise. A rise in sea level means that places like Florida and Bangladesh could sink.
