There are differences in dependency load, birth rate, and life expectancy for different countries because every country is in different stages of development. More developed countries such as Canada can provide better quality health care than a country such as Ethiopia. Better healthcare is why Canada and Greece have a higher life expectancy than Ethiopia. There are also specific reasons for lower birth rates such as in Canada, the birth rate is lower compared to Ethiopia because in Canada prices have rose to a point where people are finding it too expensive. Less developed countries such as Ethiopia have less education which is another reason for higher birth rates. Decreased education can lead to poor family planning which means more births meaning a higher birth rate. Education also leads to many women reconsidering having children and marriage which is another reason a country like Canada or Greece has a substantially lower birth rate compared to Ethiopia.

Why do we care?

It is important to look at the birth rate, life expectancy, and dependency load of different countries because this information decides what we need to change to create a better future. For example seeing the birth rate decreasing in Canada caused by everything becoming too expensive can be a sign to solve things such as the housing crisis so housing becomes more affordable which leads to more people being able to afford to have kids, increasing the birth rate. It is important to understand differences in life expectancy between countries because this can help raise awareness on problems in countries such as Ethiopia, which has 0% of people above 90 years old. It is important to look at differences in dependency load because if a majority of people in a country are in the dependency load, this means a smaller amount of people in the workforce. Not enough people in the workforce can lead to a worker shortage which means that demand becomes so high that it can't be reached. This then brings plethora of issues such as a increased inflation or delayed services in essential services like health care.
