Cultural Transmission<br>- schools teach core values like patriotism, individualism, competition, and norms and rules.<br>3. Assimilation/ Social Control<br>-Schools expose students from different backgrounds to a common curriculum.<br>4. Social Placement<br>-Meet economy's need trained workers encourage upward social mobility<br>5. Change and Innovation<br>-changing needs of society.<br>ex. technology, demographics.</div>]]></description>

They view it as no matter who the student is and who the teacher is there should be no reason for the teacher to treat the student with different levels of praise, attention, and respect.<br><br></div>]]></description>

What are some ways schools prepare young people for different futures?<br>Some ways schools prepare young students for different futures is by the tracking system, having different levels for students. Also when someone comes from a less fortunate home then they dont really know "common sense." Also schools prepare students by having a set of values and how you should treat teachers/other students, which helps you prepare for many kinds of futures. &nbsp;<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

How do Sociologist view education through the Conflict Perspective?<br><br>Sociologists believe that opportunities for educational success are distributed unequally throughout the country's population and that the achievements of students reflects those inequalities. They also believe that socioeconomic statuses affect educational achievement distribution through expectations, motivation, environment, culture, independence, and the ability to pay. Overall, richer communities have more ability to be successful through education.</div>]]></description>

Children are taught to be punctual, stand in line, be quiet, and obey.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Tracking: another way that the educational system maintains equality. This involves the assignment of&nbsp; students to different types of educational programs, such as general studies, vocational training, and college preparatory studies.</div>]]></description>

Why are Interactionist Sociologist interested in the Self-fulfilling prophecy?<br><br>When students see their own prophecies and try to start achieving them that how is how they want to fulfill them. Other students see other kids trying very hard to get their goals they push just as hard. this also boosts their self confidence so much that it pushes them to do more.<br><br>Self-fulfilling prophecy definition- a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself due to positive feedback between belief and behavior.</div>]]></description>
