They thought the brain was not important.

First the internal organs were removed and put into canopic jars, only the heart was left in the body.

One of the embalmers cuts the left side of the body and removes many of the internal organs.                                   
Lungs, livers, stomach and intestines are washed and packed in natron which willdry  them out.

The arms and legs are wrapped separately between the layers of wrapping the embalmers place amulets to protect the body on its journey to the underworld.

The body is taken to the tent known as "ibu" or the place of purfection'.

A priest out loud while the mummy is being wrapped these spells will help ward the evil spirits and help deceqsed make the journey to the after life.

Linen strips are wrapped around the body then after the legs and arms are tied up.

A cloth is wrapped around the body and a picture of Osiris is painted on its surfice.

Finally a large cloth is wrapped around the mummy.

A board of painted wood is placed on top of the mummy before the mummy is lowered into its coffin
