These types of media have shaped the way I see the world. I love the stories that all of them portray like love, tragedy, and the poetic nuances folded in the world. The recurring aspect in all the media that I have presented is “finding yourself”, the teenage coming-of-age experience. I love reading, watching, and listening to these diverse voices and personalities because, in reflection, I realize someone else has experienced the emotions I have, the feelings I harbor.

I believe that these media have positively affected my life. They all made me curious about many things like life, experiences, and the human condition. Because of the media I consumed, I have based my whole life on romanticizing the little things in the every-day setting. It has also pushed me to pursue academia as my main aspiration. I wanna be a professor because I want to inspire others to pursue their curiosity and grow every time they discover new things. As for my behavior and attitudes, I would reference the movie “Dead Poets Society '' with its prominent quote ‘Carpe Diem’ or to seize the day in Latin. This film opened my eyes to living life with no regrets and I always integrate that notion with every decision I make. Truthfully, it is not always healthy to act in the moment. Sometimes I use that as an excuse to keep using my phone or keep scrolling down Tik Tok. I want to separate “living life with no regrets” from “living life recklessly”. The steps that I’ve been doing is to limit my use of gadgets and go back to more traditional media like books and record players. In the end, all the media I have presented shaped the person I am today and I'm thankful for every song, book, and movie that has changed my brain chemistry to make me.. me.
