An effective leader leads by example, never afraid of hard work. An effective leader is an excellent communicator, creating clarity, and dissolving confusion. I am currently not in any official leadership role, but I do consider myself a leader. I am one of the most senior staff members at the school where I work, having worked there longer than most, and having more education than most. But besides that, I am passionate about the field of early childhood education and that comes across in my work. I strive to have each family represented in my classroom and for each child and family to feel like an integral part of our community (which they are!). I often facilitate collaborative activities for families to contribute to and keep in the classroom as a reminder that we are all in this together.
